I love hunting with crossbows as I am originally a firearms hunter, my start with crossbows was with Horton Legacy 150lb compound …It was fine dose the job within 25yrds low quality but you got what you pay for, so after the string broke during the hunting season I decided to sell it aand spend more to get a re-curve crossbow so I can maintain it by myself and not to send it to the shop every time I need to re-sting it specially the archery shop in about 45miles away…Got it Sold on Craigslist.
As I am a big boy over 6’ so I was looking for the high end power in the market so it was by the time Horton Legend 225HD and I got an eBay deal on used like new Horton Legend full package for about $500. I have to say it was good and accurate and made in the US, I did use it almost every weekend just for Target practice until the string broke while I am shooting it and it caused damage to the Limbs. I called Horton Archery Customer services, described the damage and they said you need to replace the limbs and as I am not the original owner so the warranty is void , I said okay please replace it on my charge and include installing new string. they mentioned that the new limbs will be covered by them for 3 years … All of that sound great , they gave me a return Authorization number and they requested to disassemble the bow and send it over and they took my credit card information in advance and they said it will take 2 -3 week upon receiving my xbow and the cost is $126 for new 2 limbs , string and shipping back to me,
Finally I received my xbow and all the sudden I found that my old damaged limbs has been re-installed with new sting and the invoice is showing that they have charged me for new 2 limbs $100 + $18 new string +$8 shipping. I have checked my credit card online and I found that they have charged me!
I was so mad I called them back and the customer service lady in cold blood just said sir I have the system right in front of me showing that we have installed new limbs for you. I replied Mam I have the damaged bow in my hand with the old limbs. She said you have a warranty I can give you a new return authorization number and we will check it out and that’s where I went nuts!!! She never admitted that a mistake might happen and it was an ugly conversation ended by me saying. Mam you just lost a customer. So I have send my crossbow bow back to Horton on the same day on my own cost hopefully they give me what I paid for!!
I have followed by sending complain online through their Horton web site but never heard anything back from them till today! I can send my Return Aythorization numbers to anybody wants to check on my story!

Excellent article. I believe that if more people tried bow hunting, they would be surprised how much fun this can be. I invite you and your readers to visit my new site, Silent Draw Outdoors. This is a new breed of hunting and outdoor adventure. Watch <a href="http://www.silentdrawoutdoors.com/" rel="nofollow">bow archery hunting videos</a> of big game in North America.
